Keng-prod rec. is an indipendent music project aiming to support keng~, by promoting, releasing and letting on keng~'s music.

My name's Maurizio Caggiano, I've been playing the percussions for 16 years now, I'm very keen about music, new technologies and the the interaction between them. I've been working in the range of the information technology for about 11 years as Programmer, Web designer, SEO specialist and multimedia editor (audio/video and animation). I'm actually working for a Communication and Marketing Agency (you can get my CV by clicking here, download of CV requires registration). I'm an indipendent and self-produced(!!!) producer, dj, composer and live performer and at the moment I have a solo project.

keng~ was born in the 2005 with a little work named Wysiwyg - EP, a never released EP that you can download here for free. The audio quality is not high as the piece was originally created in headphones and with two low cost and low quality monitors but I still wanted publishing it because it's a work full of electronic experimentation and affected by the London IDM, anyway. It was very helpful to me to pass the 2007 Electrowave pickings (I finished to be the 4th). I've always thought about remastering it but all the times I tried to I finished to leave the thing prompted by other music desires.

Since 2005 till now I've been playing music in many digital art and music festivals (also international ones) like soundhills, metromaritmica e flussi - digital transitions (for the pre festival, in the August of 2009). In the 2009 I opened MURCOF's live in Potenza for Potenza Soundscapes, a project linked to Arte in Transito, paesaggio urbano ed arte contemporanea. I participated in international competitions and won some of them and I succeed to be in the 2007 Gemini Muse Catalogue. In all this time my interest gradually flew from IDM and electronic experimentation towards the electro-acoustic panorama and I started to insert more field recordings in my tracks. I never stopped DJing, organizing parties with some friends, proposing a selectha of music, from dub to Psytrance. If you are willing to have a complete artistic CV, you can read this document.

Music isn't by the "music-maker". It belongs to everyone. The composer's just a medium between the Cosmos and the audience. No one can claim to be the owner of it. Musicians are just little servants of the Cosmos and our only goal is to connect it to humans by our art!
